I. Ion Exchange Resins
For many industrial and technical applications, e.g. for binding of metal ions or small molecules, synthetic resins are most important, especially copolymerisates of styrene and divinylbenzene (DVB). These polymers are physically and chemically very stable (except against strong oxidizing agents), can be combined with a variety of functional groups and are available in different particle sizes and with varying degrees of porosity.
