2D Gel Electrophoresis System
The new Hoefer 2-Dimensional Electrophoresis System that offers the
highest focusing voltage is available for the first dimension and has an
easy-to-use, highly reproducible, second-dimension separation tank.
The
complete 2D System includes the IEF100 First-dimension Isoelectric Focusing
Separation Unit and the SE900 Vertical Slab Gel Electrophoresis Unit.
The IEF 100 will help researchers increase the quality and speed of their IEF
separations, and the SE 900's single tank design ensures leakage free runs and
ability to reuse buffer. The SE 900 is also simple to use, utilizes minimal
parts, and provides efficient cooling.
The SE 900 provides second dimension
capabilities, and when used with the IEF 100, a holistic 2D System results.
For example, the IEF 100 is used to generate first-dimension; then the focused
strips are transferred to a SE 900 second-dimension slab gel for the second
dimension separation by molecular weight. The first dimension IEF can be run
with IPG strips of any length commercially available up to 24 cm (e .g. SERVA
IPG BlueStrips). Up to six IPG strips can be focused at one time in a
plastic running tray.
The integrated 12,000 Volt Power Supply, with its
high voltage and current, enables fast run times and provides both Ethernet
and RS232 outputs at the front of the unit. The separation tank can hold up to
6 second dimension gels.
There is a gel casting option that can be
purchased with the SE 900. The gels can thus be cast in a multiple gel caster
that produces identical gels to allow for highly reproducible production of
lab cast gels.
