Protein Blotting

from polyacrylamide or agarose gels onto membranes.

make it possible to assay the material on a transfer membrane with different
antigens or antibody probes without cutting the membrane into strips. The
membrane remains intact to preserve the correspondence
between different
lanes or positions on the gel.

provides a simple, convenient method to immobilize unfractionated samples to a
membrane, allowing screening of recombinant clones, DNA, RNA and proteins.
