Biotinylated Biomolecules
Streptavidin Agarose
Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein containing four biotin-binding sites.
Recombinant streptavidin is covalently coupled to a highly crosslinked fine
beaded agarose for purification of biotinylated biomolecules like proteins,
lectins, antibodies, nucleic acids, receptors and ligands. The binding of
biotinylated macromolecules is essentially irreversible because of the harsh
conditions needed to disrupt the streptavidin-biotin interaction. This feature
makes streptavidin-agarose useful in a variety of affinity purification
applications.
Due to a superior coupling technology, SERVA Streptavidin
Agarose provides one of the highest binding capacities available with
lower non-specific binding and less leaching.
