Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (Tris) of ultrapure buffer quality with very low UV absorption, suitable for biological, enzymatic and pharmaceutical research.
With a pKa of 8.1 Tris base is optimal for preparation of buffers in the physiological pH range of 7.3 to 7.5.
It is used as a component in buffer solutions in numerous applications:
