Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), a natural phytohormone (plant auxin) is a highly
effective plant growth regulator, formed by a variety of fungi, including
yeast. 3-Indoleacetic acid induces plant cell elongation and division
causing uncontrolled growth. The auxin is a signaling molecule involved in
plant organogenesis and growth control. IAA is a supplement in media such as
Murashige and Skoog media and Gamborg’s B5 media.
