One of the
most used detergents used for extraction, purification and crystallization of
membrane proteins
N-Dodecyl-β-D-Maltoside (DDM)/N-Decyl-β-D-Maltoside (DM)
has been used in the extraction of over 80 % of eukaryotic membrane protein
structures.
DDM with and without cholesterol is a good detergent choice for
LCP experiments.
