Brij® 35
Brij 35, ein Alkylpolyethoxylat, ist ein mildes Tensid, das für die Isolierung von funktionellen Membrankomplexen geeignet ist.
Dieses nichtionische Tensid wurde erfolgreich bei der Kristallisation des integralen Membranproteins Cytochrom c-Oxidase eingesetzt.
Brij 35 kann auch als Additiv oder Modifikator in der Chromatographie eingesetzt werden. Es ist effektiv bei der Elution stark adsorbierter Proteine in der thiophilen Interaktionschromatographie.
Brij 35 verstärkt deutlich die Fluoreszenz von verschiedenen Farbstoffen und Verbindungen mit biochemischer oder pharmazeutischer Bedeutung. Es wird auch als Additiv in Enzymassays und in der Chemilumineszenzanalyse eingesetzt.
