Dodecyl-ß-D-maltosid
Das Zucker-Tensid Dodecyl-ß-D-Maltosid ist ein effizienter Membranlöser. Es wurde häufig für die Untersuchung photosynthetischer Membranen eingesetzt, insbesondere für die Solubilisierung hochaktiver Photosystem-II-Partikel.
Auch für die Isolierung und Charakterisierung von membrangebundenen Enzymen, Rezeptoren und anderen Proteinkomplexen wurde Dodecyl-ß-D-maltosid erfolgreich eingesetzt, z. B. für die Solubilisierung des muscarinergen Acetylcholinrezeptors, die Stabilisierung der Ca2+-ATPase oder die Rekonstitution eines Cytochrom b1-Komplexes.
Die Dodecyl-Maltosid-SDS 2D-PAGE ist eine leistungsfähige Methode zur Auftrennung von Chloroplasten-Thylakoidmembranproteinen.
